What makes a good diver safe and a safe diver good?

There's really only one way to get good at this do this & that's:
By going diving, by being and breathing underwater!

Everything's included! Bring your towel, your wallet and your sense of humor. We supply the rest You don't have to invest thousands of dollars in equipment to learn how to dive! Buying all that sexy, shiny, color coordinated new gear won’t make you a safer, more competent diver. You don't need to be pushed into the advanced class. You don't have to take 25 more specialty classes.
You just have to go diving!
You're going to find that almost all the dive operations on Maui offer certification courses with only four dives over a 2 or 3 day period. We give you six to eight open water dives over 3 or 4 days! We can do it all in a row if you want, or we can try and work around your vacation over a four or five-day period! Why so many dives? Easy,
To learn to dive safely, you have to go diving!

We won't just sell you a scuba certification card; we're actually going to teach you how to dive! All equipment, registration, etc. is included on all our dives. We recommend you don't buy gear until after you've had a chance to test-dive it.
Our full-on international certification class meets at 6:15 in the morning (when the ocean's always at its best. The good visibility and conditions are worth the early rise.) We grab coffee and a muffin and we’re off to today's dive site, lecture by the beach and it’s time to dive!
We're now going to do two open water looking-learning-feeling = training dives
from the beach. We'll be learning scuba skills while curious fish amble by wondering, "What are those things with silver smoke coming out of their heads?"
After diving we breakdown and setup for our next day's diving. I like to debrief over LUNCH! (Underwater you burn 1200 to 1400 calories per hour, so you will be hungry!) Then lecture and we're done between 2 and 3 in the afternoon.
Try and sign up with us at least a month or so in advance.
We'll send your books and assignments to you ASAP so you can get the
text and homework out of the way before you get here. This makes for
less time studying, more time diving and playing with Maui.
Full international open water SCUBA CERTIFICATION:

class is the absolute best way to get the most out of Maui both above and below the water and get certified at the same time!
This is really the best way to go! Contact a scuba diving shop or operation in your area and go through all the pool skills and academics before you come over. Your instructor will issue you a letter of referral, you beat feet over to Maui and we will take you through the open water part of your course while you're vacationing on Maui. Six dives over 3 not necessarily consecutive 
mornings of diving!
Your Maui open water checkout is done in a very small class over a period of three great mornings. These mornings do not have to be consecutive! We'll try to fit your schedule. We practice all the skills, of course, but I like to spend about two thirds of each of your six (not the usual inadequate four) dives just going diving. This is the only way to let you get comfortable and feel natural in the water. This is simply "learning how to dive." Paying money and buying a certification card while being given very little experience just doesn't cut it. How do we accomplish this?
